The basic admission ticket is undoubtedly the most popular and simplest option, which includes:

The admission fee is €25. It is non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled, but you will have one year to visit the other monuments apart from the Tower, which can be visited on the date and at the time chosen at the time of booking.

Climb the Tower of Pisa: description of the visit
Once you have purchased your ticket you can head to the tower. Please note that electronic tickets are also accepted on smartphones!
After contemplating the peculiar white marble exterior, present your tickets at the entrance, enter the tower and climb the spiral staircase for about 251 steps to reach the top.
When you reach the belfry of the Torre di Pisa, you are confronted with a simply breathtaking view: the Campo dei Miracoli, with its cathedral, baptistery, and monumental cemetery, stretches out at your feet. Opening Hours
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is open every day of the year, from January to December.
Opening time is 9:00 a.m. while closing time varies throughout the year:
- During winter it usually closes at 6:00 pm.
- During the summer it usually closes at 10:00 p.m..
- At other times, or at any rate in general, closure is adjusted according to climate and daylight hours.
I recommend that you check the opening hours when you make your reservation. Also, keep in mind that although it is a rare occurrence, the bell tower may experience early closures, and there are days when it is not accessible due to technical reasons or adverse weather (e.g., strong winds).
If you are planning your visiting day, remember that entry is allowed until 30 minutes before closing time.
Where it is located and how to reach it
The Tower of Pisa is located in the Piazza del Duomo in Pisa. Pisa is a very famous city in Tuscany, one of the main regions of Italy.
Piazza del Duomo is located just outside the historic center of Pisa and can be reached on foot in a short time (20-25 minute walk from Central Station).
Pisa is easily reached from major Italian cities either by train or by car:
- from Florence: about 1h travel time, either by train or car.
- From Rome: about 3h by train, almost 4h by car.

Shoulders, thighs and knees must be covered for both visiting the Tower and visiting the Cathedral.
Who can climb the Tower
Inside the Tower of Pisa, the ancient floor is uneven and slippery. This makes climbing the 250 steps very tiring and can be a safety issue. Therefore, children under 8 years old (completed or to be completed in the current year) are not allowed to climb the tower. In addition, the visit is strongly discouraged for visitors with reduced mobility and heart disease.
Who gets in for free
There are no reduced tickets for access to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. GRATIS admission is reserved exclusively for visitors with accompanied disabilities. There is no reduction for families (even large families), students or even children.
Accompaniment of minors
Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult during the visit and may be required to present a identification document certifying the age of the minor.
Timetable and punctuality
On the ticket is indicated the time chosen for the visit: if you arrive late, you will not be admitted to the visit without the possibility of a refund. For this reason I again advise you toarrive at least 20 minutes earlier than the time slot you booked.
Security Control
At the entrance, visitors can be screened with metal detectors (the device does not affect the functioning of pacemakers and defibrillators).
Animals
In the monuments and museums of Cathedral Square you cannot enter with animals (of any size and in any mode of transportation). The only exception is made for certified guide dogs, which are useful for accompanying people with disabilities.
Accessibility
People with diasability can visit the Tower free of charge. Remember that due to the limitation of places and high attendance, free visit opportunities are limited to certain times and reservations are required.
Luggage storage
Luggage and large suitcases are not allowed inside the various monuments in Cathedral Square but only small backpacks or bags (20 cm x 30 cm x 38 cm) are allowed.
Also, if you are visiting the Tower, keep in mind that zappies, bags or luggage, even if they are small, must be left for safekeeping at the Tower’s free cloakroom (you can pick them up at the end of your visit).
If you have larger luggage than the indicated sizes, I recommend booking a luggage room outside the Field of Miracles.
